Cook-Out Burgers and 'Que

A caveat--Cook-out is not a barbeque restaurant. It's a fast food restaurant in Durham that serves very good hamburgers and shakes, along with some barbeque. But, in keeping with the spirit of this blog, I decided to forgo my burger, Cook-out style (cheese, chili and slaw), and get a plate of 'que.

It wasn't so bad. I mean, the sauce was just Texas Pete's, nothing fancy, but the pork was decent and it came with slaw, hushpuppies and fries. Considering how close Cook-out is to my home, it is a convenient 'que joint. On the otherhand, Cook-out's burgers are so good that it seems silly to get their decent 'que when you can get an far better than average burger?

My rating--

My husband and I just ordered 4 Cookout burgers with chili and slaw (which we paid extra for). Our burgers were cold and each burger had about a fourth of a teaspoon each of chili and slaw. This was our first time ever visiting the newly built Cookout in our hometown of Shelby, NC, and I can guarantee you that IT WILL BE OUR LAST !!!
